About Us

Emergency Alert, a Lifeline program, is a charitable organization established in 1989 by the Rotary Club of St. John's to provide a personal emergency response service to the residents of St. John's and surrounding areas. In 1992, the Aliant Telecom Pioneers assumed responsibility for operations and expanded the program across the island. Currently the organization is governed by Bell Aliant Pioneers and Rotarians from Rotary Club of St. John's.

Staff manage the day-to-day operations and are supported by Bell Aliant Pioneers around the province. In 2008, Emergency Alert started offering Lifeline professionally monitored 24/7 service to every home in Newfoundland Labrador.
